ANGELINA

At 226 Rue de Rivoli you find the very popular café Angelina. According to the legend, this is where Coco herself went when she wasn’t creating Chanel. If you have an empty stomach and a generous budget we recommend you their lovely brunch. If you’re just in for the hot chocolate (which by far is the best in Paris), there’s just one alternative – L’Africain, a melted dream for the chocolate lover.

CALDO FREDDO

At least once a week I go to Caldo Freddo at 34 rue Montergueil.  This great italian place is not only cheap and well located, it also has what could be the best pizza slize in Paris. The guys working here are supernice and the owner is, judging from his accent, probably italian. If you’re not up for pizza they also have some great paninis and salads. It’s the best place for a quick lunch if your close from to halles.

L’AS DU FALLAFEL

Vegetarian? You might consider it after a stop at L’As du Fallafel. At Rue des Rosiers in lovely le Marais you find what could be the best Falafel in the world. If you arrive at lunch time you should expect a long line, but trust us – it’s worth the waiting. For the very moderate price of 5 € you’ll have a perfect fallafel with aubergines, hummus, salad and a spicy sauce.

LA FERME

If you’re walking around the fancy area close to the Opera, there are plenty of nice bistros and fancy resturants. However, since you probably want to save your budget for shopping, which in this area easily can be expensive, here is a little tip for you. The place is called La Ferme and it’s located on 55 rue Saint Roc in the first district. It’s definitly worth a visit, the prices are moderate and there’s a lot to choose from; salads, pastas, desserts and pastries. The round chocolat pastry is a personal favourite!

LES PHILOSOPHES

In an area as trendy as lovely, you find this typical french bistro called Les philosophes. Located where rue Vieille du temple meets rue du Trésor this is the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Have a glass of wine and enjoy watching the trendy people of Marais passing by. If you’re hungry we recommend you the Salade des philosophes. At the price of 14 € you’ll have a fresh salad with a wide range of veggies and a french chevre chaud.
